Olivia is getting pretty good at communicating now that she is 2 1/2 years old. Last week she was watching TV and she accidentally peed on the couch (ya, I know kind of gross). After we told her we were sad she peed on the couch and how she needs to try to make it to the potty in time she said,

"Tom-morrow we go to tha store and buy a new one, k?"

Potty Training

Oh, potty training. Oh how I have dreaded thee. Well it has actually gone great! I was so hesitant to start. I heard so many different tips and ways to potty train and I of course have no idea what I am doing so it was very intimidating. So what worked for Olivia.

1. Waited until she was really ready and wanting to go potty in the toilet (not when I was ready).

2. Kept telling her about all of her friends that use the big potty and don't wear diapers anymore.

3. Got books about potty training.

4. Explained how babies like Ella wear diapers but big girls wear underwear.

5. Figured out what really motivates her. Candy. Not much else.

6. Let her pick out her potty and underwear (she went with Minnie mouse).

7. Lastly, we had to officially start. Took a couple days of staying home all day (which is hard for me to do) and no going back.

The result she has done great! Once we officially started she hasn't pooped in her pants. She has had only a couple pee accidents while busy and out and about but I think it was mainly my fault for forgetting to ask her if she needed to go. Busy Christmas shopping has made it a little harder. Every time she goes pee in the potty she gets one candy and when she poops she gets 5. She is hilarious she always yells in excitement, " I get fiiiivvvvve candieeeessss!" She loves it.

Anyway, hopefully she keeps up the great work. It has only been 2 weeks but it has gone so much better than I expected. Way to go Olivia!

Oh, and she likes to waste lots of toilet paper. We need to work on that.

Princess Tea Party

Olivia had her first princess tea party birthday party this week. Her friend Kealie turned 3 and Olivia was so excited to go. All the little girls dressed up in pink princess dresses. They made crowns and ate cute heart grilled cheese sandwiches. It was so adorable! I loved watching my little girl being a sweet little princess.

July 17th we decided to go on a stroll at Greenough Park with the new little one. She loved the fresh air and so did big sister Olivia. She rode her cute little tricycle all over. Fun, fun, fun.

The day we got home from the hospital with baby Ella Brodie thought it would be fun to share the wonderful news about our new baby girl. So he went out bought a couple balloons that said "It's a Girl", strapped them to Olivia's tricycle and went for a ride. They wanted to tell people about it but it was a Saturday and no one was around. He even had bought little "it's a girl" mints too but had no one to pass them out to. I swear he is the cutest man ever. How many guys do stuff like that. I love him. I think it was kind of his way of passing out cigars in celebration.

Anyway, since they had no luck with the ride around the block he decided to take them to church and Olivia got to pass them out to her friends in Nursery. One mother told me that when her daughter came home she said, "Olivia's mom popped out a baby!" I guess those mints helped make an impression.

Ella Grace Hanni was born July 8th, 2011. She was 7lbs 10oz. Born at 10:10 am. She was healthy and gave us some good screams for a few hours after she was born. She is beautiful and we love her.

Kristin went in to the hospital last night at 6pm to get induced. She was 1 day past her due date and was ready to meet her baby boy. Cole James Edington was born this morning Monday May 16th at 5:12am. From the picture they texted us of Cole on the scale it looks like he was 8 lbs 4 oz. We haven't heard much else except her epidural quite working at the end and so she was in a lot of pain.

We are so excited for them! They have been waiting awhile for little Cole to join their family and we are so glad he finally decided to come down! I can't wait to meet the little guy!

Super Busy

So let me explain why it is St. Patricks day and we haven't posted since Halloween, well, we have be busy, and I mean busy.

Brodie's work has gone into overdrive. Thanks to Obama and our government Hughes Net has received some money from the Recovery Act. Thus making signing up for Hughes Net all too irresistible for so many people out there. People need to qualify for the program but many have and so Brodie has been super busy with work. We are truly grateful for the work he has had but I know Brodie is tired. He has been working 6 days a week installing 3 jobs almost everyday. And this started in November. That is 4 months straight of working his butt off and being gone often. It also means I have to pick up the slack of him being gone. I have started scheduling all of his jobs, printing paperwork, faxing paperwork, updating jobs, and everything other thing he has no time for. Needless to say it would be nice to have a vacation. Unfortunately that won't happen for awhile so onward we go. We are going to work hard until it slows down or Brodie has a mental breakdown (we can only hope for the first.)

On top of our crazy busyness we had the holidays where Olivia and I went to Cali to see the family for 3 weeks (which was super fun.) After we got back we found a new place to live and decided to move into a bigger place, a house (which we love). Now that I think about it that was kind of crazy. Luckily we had a month to slowly move everything and we has some help from friends. I had to pack and move everything small over by myself. Olivia and I would take our daily moving trip. Then at the end of the month some friends came and helped us move the big stuff. After I had to unpack everything by myself while Brodie kept on working. It was crazy but we love our new house. We have a garage, 3 bedrooms (one for the new baby), its in a better neighborhood and we have alot more space.

One more thing to add to the fun is that I am pregnant. Stress and moving don't usually bode well with pregnant women but I think I have done pretty well. Especially after the vomiting had stopped.

Recently things have calmed down a little bit but Brodie is still working hard. I really appreciate how hard he works.

Besides that Olivia has been taken along for the ride. She has been great and is getting big. I will try to update you on her next.

A New Blog

I have decided to start a new blog. Don't worry I am keeping this one too. This blog is mainly Olivia (if you haven't noticed) and I decided to start another.
I know what your thinking. Who you? The lady who doesn't blog for months at a time. Well yes. I have decided and I am doing it. That's the end of it.

I want to focus on good things again. I want to be optimistic again. I don't know if it is the stress of being an adult, a mother, or all the crap that goes on in the world today but somewhere I have changed. I am not as optimistic as I should be. I look at all the bad, not the good.

Olivia can officially say "Bubbles." It is super cute. "bub...uls." I love it. She said it all on her own this weekend. We were having a bubble bath and she said it. I was so excited. Bub...uls. What a cutie. Other words that are common are bu-bye, daddy, mommy, and dog. The rest are her baby signs. She knows eat, drink, more, and all done. She is getting so smart.

Yes it is true my daughter will possibly grow up to be a vacuum fixer-upper. The other day I was trying to fix our piece of crap vacuum that won't work and of course Olivia had to get in on the action. She loved it. I had my screw drives out and so she had to put a screw driver into any hole she could find. The best part is how serious she was about it. I am pretty sure she was trying to fix it. I would lay down to get a better view and she would come over and put her face right where I was looking to try and see what I could see. She would sit in my lap and try and fix the vacuum. It made it hard to do anything but she was dang cute doing it. Now all she needs is a toddler tool belt.

A Long Day of Church and Pig Tails

On a side note. Church has gone so much better the past couple of Sundays. Olivia made it all the way through Sacrament in our pew. Big step. Well she had to go out once but was so upset we went out she threw a tantrum and went back to daddy. After that she did pretty good. It was so nice. The rest of Sunday went good. I just can't wait until she can be in nursery. I think she feels the same. So much fun and so many cool toys!

Well of course it was my fault. It was disgusting. Yesterday morning I was working on the computer when I realized Olivia needed a new diaper. As I was taking her full soggy diaper off I realized we should just take a shower right then so I didn't put a new diaper on her. I then thought of something important to do on the computer, got distracted and went back to work. I thought I would do it really quick before we showered. Well, not quick enough. A few minutes later I hear a quite grunting and look over and yell, "Noooooo!" Olivia is popping a squat right next to me on the carpet! Yes the carpet. No diaper, right on the carpet. Gross, I know. So I cleaned it up and we showered. Yes I know it was my fault, but who would of thought the one time she poops a day would be during the 10 min she was diaperless. Oops.

Growing Up

Olivia is growing up and there is no stopping it. She is getting bigger and is wanting to learn more everyday. She will now fold her arms when it is time to pray, and sometimes close her eyes. It only lasts about 4 seconds but it is so cute. She also says something after we say "Amen" at the end. It sounds nothing like amen, and in fact changes every time, but she will say something every time we say amen. So cute.

Tonight we had a Family Home Evening about Jesus. We showed her his picture and told her about how he loves her and different things about him. She was starring at the picture so intently and listening to every word. She was definitely paying attention.

So here is an update on our cute little one...

She is so interested in learning and is doing new things everyday. She will bring you a book if she wants you to read it to her. And then sit right in your lap for a good view.
She loves to shoot you with the air in a can. She thinks it's hilarious.
She loves to be chased. She will just start running away for no reason so you will chase her.

She waves at everyone and will do so when I tell her to wave. Waves to daddy when I tell her its bedtime.

She says "bye".

She is so independent. She walks away without even looking to see if were following her.

She loves any and all sweets.

She loves to push everything. Chairs, grocery carts (even full ones), toys, strollers, everything.

She dances to music. It kind of looks like a convulsion, but its cute.

She loves nursery. Even though she goes with Dad and isn't official for another 3 months.

She loves people.

Shes a picky eater.

She loves dogs. Every time she spots one or even hears one barking she will make her own cute barking noise.

She thinks a lot of animals are dogs.

She loves swimming and playing in water.
She knows her friends and likes playing near them and stealing their toys.

Olivia is so cute, we sure love her.

Hike to the M

Well, we did it. It was tough and straight up a mountain but we did it. We made it to the "M." The dreaded "M" hike was accomplished. Ok well maybe not that dreaded except for me and my fat, out of shape butt. But I am proud to say I did it. I don't think it was even a challenge for Brodie. The hardest part for him was probably waiting for me, and he had an extra 20 lb baby on his back. Oh well. I am proud that I made it to the top even though my ego was damaged a bit as the 20 year olds ran up the mountain past me while I caught my breath. To them I say "way to go" and to me I say "one step forward."

Baby Swimming Lessons

Liv has completed her first swimming lessons with flying colors. My friend Kim asked if we wanted to do a 3 week course for babies to get use to the water. It sounded fun so we joined. The classes were only 30 min long since that is how long it takes babies to start to turn purple-ish and start shivering in 86 deg water. The lessons were short and simple but we learned a lot of good tips and Liv got more use to the water.

I loved the swim class mainly because Liv loved it. She was a blast! The first lesson she was so excited! Laughing, giddy, jumping up and down in my arms and it lasted the whole 30 min. She thought it was all so fun. The rest of the sessions she wasn't as thrilled but still really enjoyed her self. Liv maybe a swimmer when she gets older.

In the class we practiced kicking in the water (she was a natural), splashing, blowing bubbles (which never caught on, just drank the yucky water), jumping of the side of the pool into the water (probably her favorite), and played with toys in the water. We also sang songs, did the hokey pokey, and floated around the pool. Her least favorite was wearing the life jacket for a short time, getting water in her ears, and the dreaded head dunk! We only dunked her head 3 times during the whole class but she was not a fan. The first try she cried and was very surprised and a little panicky. The second time she didn't mind it and even laughed after all the praise. The last time she hated again. Can't blame her. I hate putting my head underwater too.
Overall the class was a lot of fun and I learned my little girl is somewhat of a fish.

Nine Months Old and Crazy as Ever

Olivia is getting big. At 9 months I though I should do a little photo shoot again but she wasn't very interested this time. The only thing she wanted to do was look at her books. Olivia loves books. We go to the library every month and check out a ton of books (since they take about 1 min to read). By 9 months she has mastered the crawling position but won't crawl. And she has her 2 cute little teeth. She tries to smile for the camera and you can see her 2 teeth poke out of her cheeser grin. She is loads of fun! Enjoy!

Last night I was up at 2am but not for the usual baby waking. Last night we enjoyed a little real life "Cops" episode.

Brodie and I were in a very deep sleep when I awoke to someone yelling expletives that sounded all to similar to Rahm Emanuel. As my sleepy, angry self got up to look out the window to see who was disturbing m blissful sleep I heard and saw 2 men yelling at each other with a girl telling them to shut up. I was going to yell out the window for them "to be quite so we could sleep" but they sounded like they could be the type to do something crazy. I couldn't decide if I should call the cops so I woke up Brodie to ask him (don't know how he was still sleeping with all the noise).
Luckily someone else had called the cops and they showed up soon after.

So this is how the Cops episode went down. Five cop cars showed up. The policemen tried to calm the man down. Wasn't working. Still lots of screaming and cursing. Police grab the man and push him against a car. "I didn't do anything." "Sir, you need to calm down or I will tase you." "But I didn't (bleeping) do anything." Bright light. Hand cuffs. More yelling. Lots of car doors slamming. Cars driving away.

Our Little Card Player

We were playing Apples to Apples with my family over Christmas break, and Olivia was helping Mommy. We gave her the green card that Mom won and told her not to tell anyone what the card was. Let's see how good of a poker face our doodle has....

Merry Christmas

Well Christmas is here again and that means it is Doodle's first Christmas. I got all of my jobs done up until the 24th and we set off for Idaho. We were fully loaded in the Escape with all of our gifts and luggage for our ten day vacation. We even had to pack things around Liv's car seat to fit everything in. She did pretty good on the drive down, though. We had a portable DVD player that we let her watch part of the time and also a butterscotch sucker. We got to my parents in time for Christmas eve dinner. We had an awesome meal with many more good meals while we were staying there. We had drawn names for families, so we opened those gifts that evening. We got a large clock for Derek and Laressa for their new house; they seemed to like it. I also installed a satellite receiver for them so they could get some more TV channels. Kyle drew our name and got us a camp stove under my parent's advice. We had to laugh though because my parents had gotten us a camp stove a couple years ago. Uh Oh, they might be losing some of their memory.

Ashley and I bought a bunch of our gifts online and just had them shipped to my parent's house to make sure we would get them in time. Mom had collected them and put them on our bed for us to get when we arrived. After opening presents, I went upstairs to make sure all of our gifts were there. I had ordered some new Carhartt overalls for my own Christmas present. That was really the only large gift I was getting. I opened the box with the overalls and found them in their plastic sleeve, with the right size sticker on the leg, but they were seriously used! I was so mad at Amazon and didn't know how anyone could justify them as new. I told Ashley to come upstairs and have a look; she couldn't believe it either. Word finally got out to the rest of my family that I had been ripped off by Amazon and was about to call them to chew them out on Christmas eve. As I was looking up the number, Dad and Kyle decided to fess up. They had got me good. I guess Kyle had an old pair of overalls he had used when he worked on the oil rigs. They took the plastic bag and the size sticker off the new pair and pulled the switch. They had a good laugh. I'm just glad they didn't let me call some poor customer service rep at Amazon on Christmas eve.

We awoke the next morning around seven to find that Santa had come!

Liv got a "Jenny Jump up" for one of her gifts. She loves to jump and swing around.

Ashley and I got new Griz hooded sweat shirts. We all have wonderful morning faces. Liv is sporting some of her new pajamas.
Looks like Olivia is one of the only ways we can get Dean to somewhat smile. She actually really liked him.
Liv enjoyed some Christmas candy with Grandpa and Uncle Dean.

She also got a new high chair booster seat; she enjoyed a Gerber biter biscuit in her new chair.

Gingerbread FHE

The Pippos invited us to FHE before Christmas. I guess they have a tradition of making Christmas gingerbread houses with all of their friends every December. We actually met everyone at the institute building by UM campus. Olivia was in candy wonderland, however you can see in the picture that we gave her a pretzel to chew on instead of candy. She did get plenty of candy as well. Ashley and I made some sweet houses and afterwards, we took them over to the Roberts for Christmas. Doodle looked like she was smokin a stogey. Maybe for next FHE we will have a lesson on the word of wisdom.

Ash bought me a new Christmas tie for the season. It was covered with Christmas trees and had a singing button. Liv was fascinated by Daddy's tie, so I took off the "press here" sticker and gave it to her. She was actually more interested in eating the tie than pushing the music button. I think she may be more interested next Christmas.

Poor little Olivia, she has been sick lately with a cold. It is hard to see her so sick and really not be able to do much for her. Her nose is constantly runny and she has a bad cough. Yet, even when you can tell she is feeling horrible, she tries to be smiley. She is a good sport. Well momma, has to be monitoring Liv's temperature, and says the best way to take it is rectally. I tell her to quit torturing the poor girl. Maybe it's me, but it sounds unpleasant. I snapped this picture when Mom was about to take her temperature; Liv sure seemed pretty happy for what was taking place. Look at mean old Momma just laughing before the procedure. I had to laugh when one of the times when Ash was taking her temperature Liv shot the thermometer back out. That's my girl.

Here Comes Santa Claus

Yesterday, Dec 17th, we had our Missoula 4th ward Christmas party. The food and company were both great. We also had an eventful Christmas program. The planners had invited all of the children to wear pajamas because the polar express would be delivering Santa! We were just excited to see what Olivia would think of the man in red and white. Let's see what happened...

Liv was almost the last in line to tell him what she wanted for Christmas. Momma placed her on his lap. "Hey Mom what's going on here, who is this guy?"

I think this reindeer may have been a bit scared of ole Santa Claus. I don't think she even lasted long enough to tell him what she wanted for Christmas. I was laughing as I was snapping the pictures, and Mom rushed to her rescue shortly after. She didn't like Santa, but she did like chewing on the Christmas bell he gave her.

Christmas Gift for Mommy

I only had a little work today to get ready to do my Idaho jobs tomorrow, so we decided to get some Christmas shopping done today. Of course the doodle monster was especially cute drawing lots of comments and stares from people at the stores. Little did she know that Mommy and Daddy were shopping for her. We would hand the toy to her to see if she liked it, and she would grab the toy for a second and suck on the packaging. I did have Olivia by myself for part of the day so Ashley could do her visiting teaching. Ashley accidentally took the diaper bag leaving me with a ticking time bomb. I was sure hoping that she didn't decide to drop a big deuce with Dad at Walmart. I bought a new pack of diapers just in case, but I still didn't have any wipes. We caught up with Mom at home so Liv could get a nap before we went shopping again. During lunch I snuck a stick of a Kit Kat to Olivia. Oh she was a happy... messy baby.

I was buying some gifts online later today. Ashley and Olivia were playing in the front room while I was finishing up. Ash was holding Olivia above her while she laid on the floor. Ashley was making noises like Olivia was grabbing her lips, but she sounded different. I laughed when I found that Liv had spit up all over Mom's face including in her mouth, yucky! Instead of grabbing the baby to help Mom, I did what any good husband and dad would do, and grabbed the camera.

Mom came home the other day from shopping only to find out that she had been served by a Christmas elf. That's right; the Christmas elf did the dishes. She looks quite guilty.

Oh Christmas Tree!

The Jacobs were nice enough to get us a permit for a Christmas tree this year, so "we loaded up the ole dodge diesel and went tree huntin". Unfortunately we couldn't go on a weekend because I had to work, but we decided to try to beat the darkness Wednesday night, Dec 2nd. As you can see in the pictures, we didn't quite beat the dark. It gets dark here so early , and Briant got off of work around 4:30. We loaded up the two babies and drove up Miller Creek which is just south of Missoula on the East side of the river. We had to drive about 10 miles up the draw to reach national forest, but right when we passed through the fence, there was a huge Christmas tree patch. This was right about when a big cold weather spell started; It was probably only in the teens. I didn't know if Olivia would really like it because of the cold, but she was super excited and smiley. She was probably better in the cold than Momma. Let's just say by the time we found the right one, we all had Rudolf noses.

We put our tree trophy's in the back of the Dodge and drove to the Jacob's apartment. They made some soup for us for dinner.

Today is the last sunday in November. Ashley is putting the baby down for a nap after we had some quick food after church, (cereal and cold pizza). I am so grateful for my little girl. We have been thinking a lot lately about when Olivia was born with Brittany and Christian having their little girl this weekend, Lily Hazel Mayer. Olivia is so much fun for me. She was awake fairly early this morning in our bed. I just laid next to her while she played with my face. She was so smiley and happy.

She is enjoying Skyping more now as well. When we were talking with Ashley's family, she was reacting to Grandma and Grandpa Thomas on the computer a lot more today. We can see her developing everyday. Just before bed, we fed her baby food squash and rice cereal; she is wanting to feed herself more. I have a hard time feeding her without her grabbing the spoon and putting it in her mouth. Right as she was finishing the bowl of food, she gave us this face. Ashley informed me what it meant.

"Uh, I think, well I think, uh, ya, I'm pooping Daddy."

I don't change nearly as many diapers as Ashley, but I always seem to get the good ones. As I was plugging my nose and wiping, she decided to poop again on the changing table. With the addition of solids to her diet, she is sure stinky, of course cute stinky. She just looked at me and smiled.

We finished the evening with a bath before bed. She was playing with some of her toys in the water. She is really enjoying bath time. She likes to splash in the water, and unfortunately suck the water out of her bath rag. She can sit up on her own now with a hand ready to catch her just in case she falls. We were thinking that she should be able sit on her own really well by Christmas to open her presents.

Happy Thanksgiving

We don't have a huge place, but Ashley did a pretty good job of decorating for Thanksgiving. We cooked some of the meal and the Roberts cooked the other half. For being our second Thanksgiving dinner in one week it actually tasted really good. We did start dinner an hour late though, we blamed it on what the Roberts call "twin time".

As I am posting these pictures, I can't help but feel gratitude for being blessed with such a wonderful little family. Olivia is such a happy and healthy baby. Ashley is such a wonderful mother and wife. I am also thankful for good friends in the Missoula area like the Roberts. It really helps to be surrounded by such good people, since we don't have family here. Most of all, I am grateful for a loving Father in Heaven, who shows us love and mercy in so many ways. With Thanksgiving here, we are starting this holiday season. I hope we can remember the birth of our Saviour and the real reason to celebrate this time of year.

Happy Pre-Thanksgiving

This year, we had decided to have Thankgiving in Missoula with the Roberts; they can't really travel because of the twins. However, my family decided to have Thankgiving dinner on the Sunday before the actual day, so why not have two dinners? I also wanted to do a little deer and elk hunting during the last week of the season. We drove down on Saturday, just before a snow storm moved into the area.

This may have been Blaklee's first shoulder riding experience. She didn't know what to think about it.

Happy Halloween!!!
This year was Liv's first Halloween and we had a blast. To celebrate we hung out with our friends at a Halloween party. The Piippo's had an early dinner of stew, spidery bread sticks, spooky smoking punch (we used dry ice), mummy dogs, scary doughnut eyeballs, and our orange chocolate cupcakes.
The Piippo's, Jacobs, and Jarnagins were all there. After dinner we headed out for trick-or-treating. We went early so we would be done before dark. Safer and warmer for the little ones. Brodie and I took Olivia up to a few doors and got a little bit of candy.
She was pretty cute in here pumpkin costume. After trick-or-treating we stopped by the Roberts to say hi and hang out for a little while since there twins are too little to go partying. By 9:30 Liv was exhausted and fussy so we ran home to put our tired little punkin to sleep.
Olivia did so great trick-or-treating. She enjoyed looking around and hanging out with all the little kids. She was so tired that during the trick-or-treating she fell asleep for awhile in her comfy and warm pumpkin costume.
Brodie was great too dressing up for Halloween and letting me put makeup on his face. We had a blast as a witch, scarecrow and little pumpkin. Happy Halloween!

We made some caramel apples, hot cocoa, and homemade doughnuts with the Roberts and Kim & Clark Jacobs. Afterwards when we were talking, we realized that we all had a little sugar buzz. I don't think I have had a caramel apple for years; they were really good. Eric and I were in charge of making the doughnuts, only burning maybe a third of them.

Oct 18th, Stake Conference

We had stake conference today. Olivia did fairly good. Ashley had to take her out to feed her once. We saw the Dahl family who are in the Drummond ward. Chris Dahl and his boys meet us out steelhead fishing and go to Alaska fishing for kings with us most years. I had to laugh because Ashley noticed Chris trying to get my attention across the aisle first, but she thought he was pointing to the gentleman in front of us. Ashley poked the guy in front of us and he looked at Chris and us with a questioning look. Ashley felt really embarrassed. She hasn't met the Dahls and couldn't have known. Of course, after the meeting, we slightly made fun of her, just slightly.

Liv was sure smiley and happy after the meetings when we got home. The picture with her and Mamma is so cute.

Cold Weather is Here... In October?

We got off of the plane from Las Vegas to record low October temperatures in Montana. Some places got down to single digits at night with some of the highs in the teens and twenties. Mountains and valleys got the first snow of the season. I guess the only normal thing about Rocky Mountain weather is that it will not be normal. We thought we should test out Olivia's winter attire since it got so cold.

We are having an unusual Fall. Because of the extreme cold that came early in the season, it seems like a lot of the trees haven't changed color like they did last year. Many of the leaves have just turned brown and are mostly still on the trees. I guess it's a brown Fall... oh bother. Oh well, Olivia seems to be loving her walk at the park anyways.

Olivia to Grandma Thomas

To Grandma Thomas,

I wanted to thank you for this wonderful dolphin hat. It looks so stylish on me, and for some reason it makes my Mommy and Daddy laugh when they see me. I think it really helps me play my piano better. I think it also slims my enormous head size. I often wear it when I am working at my exercise, baby office. It helps relax me when the days are stressful at the office. Thanks again.

What Happens in Vegas

Thursday, Oct 8th. We got a ride from Kim Jacobs to the Missoula airport. We packed everything we needed on our carry-ons because we were flying Allegiant Air. They charge for everything extra. We were a little worried because this was Olivia's first time on a plane. Ashley had Olivia in her favorite outfit to meet her family at the Las Vegas airport. Olivia did really good on the plane. She made a bunch of friends with the people sitting around us. One of them was a buff muscle man who she kept smiling at. However, somewhere over Utah Ashley was holding her while she was sitting on the seat tray table. Olivia got that look on her face... Before we could react, she had a major poo on the table, where people eat! I scrambled, while laughing, and got the baby wipes. I wiped the poo off of the table and stopped it from dripping from her. Ashley just held her away from her body all the way to the back bathroom. She said that everyone was laughing as she did her walk of shame. I think that most of them could relate. I think I laughed the whole time they were in the bathroom. So much for Grandma and Grandpa seeing Liv in her favorite outfit. Olivia also seemed interested in some of the posters at the Vegas airport, maybe it's because of the man-boobies.

We visited Red Rock state park for the rest of Thursday. We did a little hiking and driving around. That cougar in the background is actually Steven.

Friday, We woke up early to drive to St. George, UT. This means that Olivia has visited 6 states, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah, all before she is 5 months old. We went to St. George to go to a family wedding. Ashley's cousin, Zach Nye was marrying his fiance Jennifer in the St. George temple. We left a little late, but Barbara's 90 mph driving got us there in time. We were hurrying in the temple, putting Olivia in the stroller for Steve to take care of. He is not used to taking care of babies at all, but he said he would take care of her while we were in the sealing. Our advice was to find a woman that could help if Olivia went crazy. We joked with him that he could use his niece to pick up on woman outside of the temple; babies are chick magnets.

Unfortunately, the sealing was late because of the previous sealing going late. I could tell that Ashley was worried about Liv and Steve. We were making bets who was probably crying outside, Steve or Olivia. The sealing room was attached to the celestial room, and it was a beautiful room. I must admit that I was thinking more of our wedding during the ceremony. It has been 5 wonderful and eventful years. When we got out of the temple back to the real world, we found Olivia and Steve. She was crying like no other. He was trying to console, but he didn't know how exactly.

We ate lunch at the "Brick Oven" pizza parlor, and Grandma and Grandpa spoiled Olivia at the toy store and the baby store for the rest of the day. Jim also bought an air handgun at the toy store. We all got shot, even Barbara before the trip was over. It hurt like a mother.

We started the day on Saturday somewhat lazy like. Jim, Steven, and I went to "Robertos" for some meaty breakfast burritos and to Duncan Doughnuts for some sweets. Steve was driving his parent's Yukon through the drive through at Duncan. After ordering a dozen, Jim Flipped down his wallet and asked for the police discount. The kid at the till, said, "OK" and he was entering the discount. Steve and I couldn't hold back the laughing, and we blew the discount. That Jim must be a shady character impersonating an officer just to get a 15% discount on doughnuts.

For lunch we had some southern bbq at "Lucilles". I had some excellent ribs. After stuffing our faces at Lucilles, we all went to the BYU/UNLV football game. BYU won.

Big Girl Foods

Well Olivia has been giving us signs that she is ready for solid food. She is fascinated by watching us eat lunch or supper together. We have been feeding her rice cereal or cream of wheat everyday for at least a week.
